Example 1:2018 Best of Design Awards Honorable Mention for Interior — Institutional: Jackie and Harold Spielman Children’s Library, Port Washington Public Library; Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership (Jonathan Wallen)

The extension of color and vision makes the space more tense
The library uses colourful lines of colours on the ground to create a guiding path. The place where the lines finally meet will extend upward to become a bookcase and seat. Such an idea is directional and can highlight a specific space to attract users. On the other hand, the facility is also designed as leaves extending in different directions, which visually delineates a unique space.
Example 2:Austin Central Library and the Tulsa City-County Central Library are among the top projects for 2018.

Adjacent independent space provides convenience and privacy
Setting up reading spaces and seats next to bookshelves in different categories facilitates gathering users who like the same types of books, which helps promote communication and enhance the reading atmosphere. A white wall lamp is installed on the edge of the square frame. The light is diffused to provide illumination. The introduction of natural light through the window helps to ensure that users have sufficient light when reading. In addition, the spacious seat design allows users to use their favourite sitting posture to read.
